Cookie Notice
Unlock Benefits Inc. · Effective date: July 4, 2026
What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They allow websites to remember information about you and your visits.
Similar technologies include:
- Local storage (stores data in your browser)
- Session storage (stores data for the duration of your browser session)
- Pixel tags (small images used for tracking)
In this Cookie Notice, we use "cookies" to refer to all these technologies.
How We Use Cookies
We keep cookie use to a minimum. We use cookies that are strictly necessary for the website to function, and one advertising measurement cookie set by the Meta Pixel, described in section 3 below.
1. Essential Cookies and Storage (Always On)
These are necessary for the Services to function. You cannot disable these without breaking the Services.
| Item | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
sb-<project>-auth-token | Cookie (Supabase) | Keeps you signed in and maintains your session when you access a secure, account-based area. Supabase may split this across a small number of sb-… cookies. | Session — refreshed while you are signed in; removed when you sign out |
unlockdtc.quiz.v1 | Session storage (not a cookie) | Saves your eligibility-quiz answers so you can refresh or go back without losing them. Stored only in your browser; cleared automatically when you close the tab. | Until you close the browser tab |
2. Analytics Cookies
We do not use dedicated analytics or performance cookie services. The Meta Pixel described in section 3 provides us with limited measurement of how visitors move through our site as part of its advertising function.
3. Advertising Cookies (Meta Pixel)
Our website uses the Meta Pixel, a tool provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. (Facebook and Instagram). The Pixel sets cookies named _fbp and _fbc in your browser. These cookies help us understand how visitors use our site, measure the effectiveness of our advertising, and reach people who may be interested in our services.
The Pixel records that certain pages and steps on our site were visited, such as starting or completing our eligibility check, beginning an application, and confirming a completed transaction. It does not receive your answers to any questions, any information about your health or impairments, or any results of your eligibility check. The only additional detail ever sent is the dollar amount of a completed payment.
Information collected through the Pixel is processed by Meta in accordance with its own data policy, and may be transferred to and stored on servers outside Canada, including in the United States.
You can limit or prevent this tracking at any time by blocking or deleting cookies in your browser settings, by using a browser extension that blocks tracking, or by adjusting your ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account settings. Our website works fully with these cookies blocked.
Your Choices
We do not display a cookie consent banner. The essential cookies described above cannot be switched off because the website does not work without them. The Meta Pixel cookies are optional: you can block or delete them at any time using your browser settings or a tracking-blocking extension, and our website will continue to work fully.
You can still control cookies and stored data at any time through your browser:
- View cookies and storage saved on your device;
- Block or delete cookies;
- Clear data when you close the browser.
Note that blocking the essential items above will break sign-in and the eligibility quiz. Refer to your browser's help documentation for specific instructions.
Third-Party Cookies
The Meta Pixel is a third-party script provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. that sets cookies on our website, as described above. We do not embed any other third-party scripts that set cookies.
When we introduce online payment, payments will be handled by Stripe through its own secure checkout. Stripe may set its own cookies on Stripe's pages to detect and prevent fraud. We will update this Notice before that goes live. We do not control third-party cookies; refer to those services' own cookie policies for details.
Do Not Track
Our website does not respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals, which have no common technical standard. If you wish to prevent the Meta Pixel from tracking, you can block or delete its cookies in your browser or use a tracking-blocking extension, and our website will continue to work fully.
Changes to This Notice
We may update this Notice if we change our cookie use — for example, if we introduce analytics or bring online payment live. The "Effective date" above will reflect the most recent change.
